Weekly Photo Challenge: Love
This week’s Photo Challenge – share a picture which means LOVE to you!
Here is my picture for this challenge.

Sergey MILCHENKO (Russia) 2010
What I see in this sculpture that means love.
Certainly the most overwhelming love that I have ever felt was for my daughter. From the moment I knew of her existence I loved her unconditionally.
The love that creates a child is a different sort of love. That love grows from mutual respect and friendship into intimate love, desire, commitment and eventually the act of love that creates. (I know this can be different for different people – this is my picture.)
The foetus in this sculpture looks at peace. ”Peace and Love” now sounds like a cliché from the 1960′s hippies, some impossible to realise ideal. It would be something to aim for though wouldn’t it?
This sculpture took weeks of meticulous work. It is carved into the rock face of a public site in Port D’Envaux. The sculptor is a man who loves his art. He has carved it into a place where people who love art go to appreciate it. His work created a gift for anyone who wants to see it. Another act of love.
Some quotes about love
“Love is the extremely difficult realisation that something other than oneself is real.” – Iris Murdoch
“I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.” ― Mother Teresa
“Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.” ― Albert Einstein
“Doubt thou the stars are fire;
Doubt that the sun doth move;
Doubt truth to be a liar;
But never doubt I love.”
― William Shakespeare“Nobody has ever measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold.” ― Zelda Fitzgerald
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” ― Anonymous, Holy Bible: King James Version
“It is a curious thought, but it is only when you see people looking ridiculous that you realize just how much you love them. ” ― Agatha Christie,
“Hate the sin, love the sinner.” ― Mahatma Gandhi
“The more one judges, the less one loves.” ― Honoré de Balzac
“Not one of you is a believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” - Islam. Forty Hadith of an-Nawawi 13
Love means different things to different people. “What is love?” was the most popular google search in 2012. Is it chemical, physical, spiritual, emotional…..?
What does love mean to you?

Beautiful! Can’t improve on what you wrote and quoted. <3
Not even with an Oscar Quote? – Thank you!
Here is an Oscar quote just for you – “Who, being loved, is poor?” Oscar Wilde
Reblogged this on The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap and commented:
What is love?
Appreciate the pingback-
Interesting sculpture. Well done.
You are welcome and thank you! I love the sunshine picture.
The photo stirs many feelings for me. I also think of the hundreds of thousands of aborted babies. And it makes me want to cry for each one of them. The love they could have been given and gave to the world. Their achievements that no one will ever know.
May I use this photo on a blog of mine down the road?
Excellent

Thank you for your comment. It is quietly emotional that image.
Please feel free to use the picture. A photo credit would be lovely.
